This product is for those who want to support Texas solar farms. The kWh rate is fixed, there is a $30 bill credit if you use more than 1,200 kWh, and 25% of the electricity is renewable solar energy.
Free Nights & Solar Days 12 (8 pm)
Solar energy by day, and free electricity at night. TXU Energy’s free nights run from 8 pm to 5 am, but you must have a smart meter installed. These deals make sense for people who run power-hungry appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, and electric vehicles at night.
The daytime kWh rate is between 19.2 and 21.3 cents per kWh, depending on your total monthly energy usage. For the solar element, TXU Energy buys renewable energy credits that equal your daytime use. That means they pay a solar power plant for your equivalent energy use. However, your electricity may come from a nearby natural gas or coal power plant.
e-Saver 10
Online shoppers may prefer this deal with its lower 15.9 cents per kWh price for 1,000 kWh monthly usage. Anyone interested has to do everything online, including Autopay and paperless billing, and the deal lasts for 10 months.
Flex Forward
This is a variable-rate product with kWh price changes from 19.5 to 21.7 cents per kWh, depending on your total monthly energy usage. There are no cancelation fees, and you can change the plan when you want.
