Reliant Energy Electricity Plans

Reliant offers both residential and business electricity plans. Its plans include:

Reliant Power Savings

Reliant Power Savings was created with single-family homes in mind. If your monthly usage reaches 1,000 kWh or more under its standard plan, you receive a $50 monthly bill credit. If you have a 2,000 kWh plan, then you get a $150 bill credit every month your energy usage exceeds that amount. Your energy rate is fixed and locked in for the length of your term.

Reliant Truly Free Nights

This plan has no energy charges or delivery fees for electricity used nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. As a solar plan, 100% of your electricity usage during this time is matched with solar energy certificates to help the solar energy industry grow. You can track your free energy usage and your solar impact on the Reliant app through its Truly Free Tracker.

Reliant Truly Free Weekends

Similar to the above plan, Reliant Truly Free Weekends delivers free electricity during certain periods and matches your usage with 100% renewable energy certificates. There’s no energy charge and no TDSP delivery fees every weekend from 8 p.m. Friday through 12 a.m. Monday. Outside of this free weekend window, you pay a fixed weekday energy rate.

Reliant Apartment Plan

The Reliant Apartment Plan is designed for renters with low energy needs. You get a lower energy charge for the first 1,000 kWh used each billing cycle. There are also no minimum usage fees, and cancellation fees are $10 for each month left on your contract.

*Reliant electricity plan information reflects availability as of August 7, 2025 and may be subject to change.

Reliant Energy Reviews

Reliant has thousands of positive reviews, but not every customer has been happy with its service. Here is what some reviewers had to say about their experience.

Positive Experiences:

“Very customer focused and in my experience, they go the extra mile to make things happen. Without hesitation, they got me disconnected from Ironhorse power services and reconnected on their program and restored my power while Ironhorse couldn't figure out what their own phone number was. I should have gone with Reliant from the beginning as they were highly recommended and I've used them at other properties. I unfortunately was fooled by their gimmicky marketing. Reliant is a best choice provider. Take it from me. I've had both.”

– Brian

“I have been with Reliant for a long time. I changed in the heat of summer from TXU and my first Reliant bill was over $100 less than with TXU. They have plans to help save and I like the weekly update to how I am doing in saving.”

– Annette S.

Negative Experiences:

“This company is difficult to transfer. I tried to transfer to a new location and I was charged $200 even though I was still using the service. They tried to credit to my account (which I didn’t want) and they stopped after one credit so they still owed $150. Very difficult to contact and the online chat would end the chat when I pointed this out.”

– Alexandra

“The worst company ever they are so rude they don't like to refund your deposit even if you respect the terms of the contract. all they do is lie, the service is high with so many fees don't waste your money”

– Benjamin K.
