TXU Energy Electricity Plans
TXU Energy offers both residential and business electricity plans. Here are some of its most popular options.
TXU Energy Simple Rate
TXU Energy’s Simple Rate plan advertises that you get the same low energy charge no matter how much electricity you use. However, the Electronic Facts Label (EFL) shows a different average price per kWh due to the monthly base charge and TDSP charges on this plan. tiered pricing based on your average monthly use.
Like many of its other plans, the Simple Rate plan only uses 3% renewable content, which is far below the state average of 35%.
TXU Energy Saver’s Choice
TXU Energy’s Saver’s Choice plan offers a $50 bill credit when your monthly usage reaches 1,200 kWh. The energy charge varies for different usage bands. The 1201 to 2000 kWh range has the lowest energy charge. This plan usage level is designed for medium to high-usage homes.
This is another plan where only 3% of the plan’s electricity comes from renewable energy sources. Saver’s Choice has fixed rates for the duration of your contract.
TXU Energy Flex Forward
TXU Energy’s Flex Forward plan is a variable‑rate, month‑to‑month electricity plan. You can change or cancel your plan at any time without penalty. It could be a good fit for people who move frequently or don’t want to commit to a contract. However, the price shown during enrollment is the price applied to the first billing cycle. This price may change in subsequent months at the sole discretion of TXU Energy.
However, the average rates are higher than TXU’s fixed-rate plans, and your rates can change based on market conditions. This plan also only uses 3% renewable content.
TXU Energy Solar Saver
TXU Energy’s Solar Saver plan is a fixed-rate plan. If you use 1,200 kWh or more in a month, you receive a $30 bill credit. The energy charge varies for different usage bands. The 1201 to 2000 kWh range has the lowest energy charge.
Despite being a renewable energy-based plan, Solar Saver’s renewable energy content is 25%, which is on par with what many competitors use for standard energy plans. However, it does mention that the solar energy is sourced within the state, helping to support local energy farms.
